Please find below a number of writing-related sites that I have found useful. I have no affiliation with any of them, I am listing them for information purposes only.

Script Yorkshire

Script Yorkshire has been around for 24 years and offers support in scriptwriting, whether for plays or TV. For a small membership fee you get access to workshops, talks, script nights, competitions and more. There are regular meetings in York, Hull, Leeds and other Yorkshire venues. They offer the chance to meet up with like-minded people and learn the craft of scriptwriting.

The Writer’s Workshop

You will find many resources here. They offer many useful services from editing, courses and useful information on creative writing and scriptwriting. There is a charge for services, but they have some useful free advice too. In September every year they have a Festival Of Writing in York, where you get the opportunity to mingle with agents, plus much more.

Ideas Tap

Ideas Tap was the ideal place to go for all creatives, whether you liked scriptwriting, photography, filmmaking, acting, in fact anything to do with the arts, they had something to help. They offered competitions, training, funding, jobs – everything related to the creative industry. Sadly they ran out of funding and despite all our efforts to keep this valuable resource open, they had to close their doors in June 2015.

Good news! Ideas Tap have been able to form a partnership with new creative industries network Hiive and are encouraging all old Ideas Tap members to join Hiive in order to receive similar opportunities, resources, competitions, and courses. In fact, they have launched  more than £100,000-worth of Ideas Tap-funded opportunities on Hiive and have continued to help creative people even after closing their doors.
